CALGARY, Alberta (CAHL) – The 2016-2017 CAHL Cup Champions, the 12th-year Eiffel Towers (since 2012), competed against the 2014-2015 and 2018-2019 CAHL Cup Champions, the 13th-year Dirty Mike & the Boys (since 2011).

Twenty heartbeats after the opening face-off were all that Rob Geddes, the former captain of the Jr. A Drumheller Dragons, needed as he activated the afterburners, acquired missile lock, and then pressed the trigger to decimate the opening target for the Dirty Mike & the Boys. Brenden Birdsell was his wingman.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Nick Saar matched the 20-second race after the start of the second period and rifled in the equalizer for the Eiffel Towers with the support of Cam McCormack, who is a Jr. B Northwest Calgary Bruins' alumnus, and Colby Kawa.

The AAA Northwest Calgary Stampeders' alumnus, Luke Toews, then took the Eiffel Towers' mission a step further as he elevated his squad to 2-1 off the feeds of Colby Kawa and Cam McCormack.

Twenty four seconds later, Joel Hergott, with the backing of Dan Hickaway and Greg Clarke, unloaded the black ammunition past the thin red line to equilibrate the battle at 2-2 for the Dirty Mike & the Boys.

Brett Threndyle, who was deployed by the Eiffel Towers' special operations command, marked the bull's-eye set for destruction and then struck the launch button himself to reacquire their lead at 3-2 while on the power play.

It was down to the finale, and Misha Davidson knew what he had to do as he took aim and rippled the inner white mesh with the six-ounce bullet to push the Dirty Mike & the Boys forward and even the score at three-all. His brothers-in-arms, Rob Geddes and Brenden Birdsell, provided their assistance.

The tactical unit sniper, Jackson Kostiuk, went on a rapid response assignment 1:05 later and regained the Eiffel Towers' edge at 4-3 while on the man advantage with the help of Colby Kawa and Nick Saar.

After another seventeen seconds had passed, Louis Bontorin and Brett Threndyle sent in Cam McCormack, who inflicted the damage on the enemy to strengthen their position to 5-3.

Greg Gardiner, who was bolstered by Colby Kawa and Luke Toews, added one more tally to the Eiffel Towers' count to capture a 6-3 triumph.

The first star was the Eiffel Towers' Cam McCormack, who possessed a great three-point display with a goal and two assists.

Colby Kawa of the Eiffel Towers amassed an excellent total of four setups and was the second star.

The Dirty Mike & the Boys' Rob Geddes was the third star with two strong points.

Brett Threndyle, Nick Saar, and Luke Toews all finished with very good two-point showings for the Eiffel Towers. The keeper, Jordan Johnson, smothered 14 chances for the win.

Brenden Birdsell notched two big points for the Dirty Mike & the Boys. Their netminder, Taylor Rudkin, a Jr. C Springbank Rockies' alumnus, blocked 27 shots on the night.
